6-DOF Robotic Arm

From actuator proof-of-concept to complete robotic system.

What began as an investigation into custom robotic actuators evolved into a complete 6-DOF robotic arm. After designing, manufacturing and experimentally comparing cycloidal and planetary architectures, the selected cycloidal gearbox was fully redesigned for CNC manufacturing before being integrated into a system combining custom mechanical design, electronics, kinematics and MATLAB-based motion control
